In Year 9, pupils have the opportunity of a visit to a place of interest such
as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park where there are lots of interesting things to
draw. |

Pupils
in Year 9 also have the opportunity of working with a real ARTIST!
Every year an artist specialising in various areas of Art and Design comes
into school for two days demonstrating
their particular skills and helping the pupils to try out different techniques -
usually to great effect. |

In 2002, Ceramic Artist Phil Hardaker came into
school and produced with the pupils a huge round mosaic which is now
displayed in the main school reception.

In
2003 Anne-Marie
Cadman, a textile designer,
came in for two days. First the pupils sketched out their designs onto
fabric.
|
|
Then Anne-Marie
showed them how to apply dyes, paint and pastels
to create the finished items exhibited around the school and also shown below. |
|
|
