Introduction

You use the future tense to talk about future events. For example:

I will fly to Spain next year.

As you have found out in the introductory exercise, you need the following "ingredients" to use the future tense correctly :

  •  a form of "werden" (e.g. Ich werde)

  •  the infinitive of the verb which carries the meaning of what will go on.

The form of "werden" will be the second idea in statement sentences and the infinitive goes to the end of the phrase.

Let's illustrate this with our holiday example from above:
