Very pleased to see that my old school has a web site! I look forward to reviewing the information that you publish on the internet with great interest.

Does Joe Malkin still teach at Painsley and if so I would love to hear from him - who knows, perhaps we could organise a school reunion for the class of '78?

Kind regards

Rob

This is Andrew Brassington AKA Brasso. The comment dated 27/9/99 isn't mine. I'm not an eco-warrior and definitely don't snog trees.

In retrospect, my five years at Painsley (1995-2000) were great. I couldn't have gone to a better school. All the teachers were good in making people do their work, which is why the school gets such good results.

Thanks to Mr. Challinor and Mr. Irving in particular.

Also thanks to Miss Dunkley. I got a B at GCSE in the end. I guess the last minute bible reading helped.

EX PUPIL 76 - 81.

I,m pleased to see that Painsley is going from strength to strength. My only regret was that there was no computers at the school until after i left.

Is Mr Irving still there.? or Mr Malkin. he used to put his head in his hands at my maths skills!

All the best for the future.

well, well, well what do we have here? not a bad effort at creating a web site. I do like the guest book very nice to be allowed to voice an opinion.(makes a change). As you all know I was the best behaved pupil ever to go to Painsley but now I'm leaving and theres no one to take my place... not even my sister she has become a rebel and has a detention on 24th May 2000 (her birthday)Thanks Ms Hanrahan it made my day to read the letter sent to tell my parents that Lucy has a detention.. keep it up ... all the best T-Bag(the king)

P.S. what did Sheep do on the web site?

I greatly enjoyed your web site, particularly the RE department's pages. You might be pleased to know that the RE page was the Web Site of the Week on our school's Problems Box Replies, a weekly set of replies to problems Pupils post in the School's Problems Box. It also includes a Thought for the Week, as well as a review of the School's attendance figures for the previous week.

Very best wishes,

I was just browsing the net and came across this site with Sophie Warrilow's name mentioned. We currently live continents away although this media brings all of us closer. It's such a small world now.

Anyway, I happen to see St. Giles mentioned and I've encountered this particular name searching for additional information about my grandfather. Apparently born in Reading and baptised in Wargrave.

A great website.

Absolutely fascinating, well done, proud to be an ex-pupil (even though PC`s were not invented in my day!!). Shame the ex-pupil directory is not more widely used.

Dear Friends, You have a wonderful website. I found it by by going to the address for Christingle.

I'm interested in learning more about Christingle. I say on your website there is a liturgy connected with it. Does it include Christmas Carols? We're looking for a simple program to have in place of a traditional Christmas Pageant at our church.

Is it possible you could send it to me by e-mail?

Thank you so much. Have a blessed Advent!

I was at Painsley from 1983-1988 and still remember two teachers - Mrs Clarke (Biology) and Mr Helm (PE) who had a lot of (positive) influence over me. Mr Irving put the fear of God in us (which I'm sure was his aim - I probably would have understood history lessons much more if he hadn't scared me so much) and Mrs Patterson (anyone remember her?) was evil and I hated every single lesson I had with her! Anyone know of A Jagger or E Flynn?

Hello,

I want to thank you for the wonderfull days my son Frank had during the second time he was visting your school. Last time was in october 1998. He was a member of the UNION hockey-team staff.

There is a another thing I want to ask you. I am the manager of a primairy school overhere. It would be very nice if there is a posibility for my oldest pupils to e-mail with English childeren of a primairy school. Perhaps it is posible that you can arrange something with an other school in your village or area which is interested in such a contact.

The full address of my school is: R.K. Basisschool De Leeuwerik Postbus 56 5450 AB Mill The Netherlands tel.: 031 485 470 151 fax: 031 485 455 608 E-mail: [email protected]

I am a proud past pupil of Painsley High school way back in 1987-1992. I loved that place very dearly and since my education their I have go on to do great things. I am now at the famous University of Florida in the United States and I will be graduating shortly. I would like to thank all the people who have helped my education since my youth, in particular Mr.s Matthews the secretary, Mr Irving the history teacher, and Mrs Welburn the home economics teacher. They all did a wonderful job.
