I dont't just want to shop, I want to shop justly. I believe that all companies who trade with Third World suppliers should abide by an independently monitored "code of conduct", which is a list of minimum labour standards.

All around the world, people are working in apalling conditions making the products that we buy here in our shops. CAFOD believes that all companies who buy from Third World suppliers should abide by a "code of conduct,", a list of minimum labour standards which would improve working conditions :

No forced labour, no child labour (under 14 or legal minimum if higher), inclusion in state or private social security benefit systems, no use of temporary contracts to avoid obligations, adequate health and safety provision, limits on working hours, a just wage, equality of treatment, and the right to organise.

CAFOD believes that dignified and justly paid work is important for development

CAFOD needs to be able to prove to companies that whilst people in Britain do want value for money they don't want it at the expense of Third World workers.
