Jesus did not come to destroy the Jewish law but to interpret it properly

Evil actions begin with evil thoughts - therefore don't even get angry with someone

The same idea - thoughts lead to actions so don't have lustful thoughts

Some men would abandon their wives by divorcing them without good reason - husbands had no reason to divorce except for marital unfaithfulness

D.8 Oaths

Be so trust worthy that all you need to say is 'yes' or 'no' and people will believe what you say.

Do not take revenge - be generous and willing to accommodate and forgive people

D.10 Love your enemies

Anyone can love their friends – the real challenge is to love those who hurt you.

When you do these things do not do it to show off - make sure your motives are good - do it in secret

D.12 Treasures in heaven

Money and possessions do not matter - only care about heavenly 'treasures' - compassion, love, serving God etc.

Do not worry - God loves you and will take care of you if you put your trust in him.

D.14 Judging others

Do not pass judgement on other people.

D.15 Ask, seek & knock

If you ask God for your needs he will provide them

Do not take the easy options in life (Living selfishly)

Do what is more difficult (Standing up for what is right, following God)

You can tell what a person is like by their actions - if someone makes out they are good

- you can tell by the way they treat others whether or not they are.

Build your life on solid foundations (God and following God in your life). Not on weak foundations (Treating money/ power/ sex etc. as more important)
