Painsley
High School is a Roman Catholic High School in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
The School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school, situated in the Staffordshire Moorlands town of Cheadle. In the vicinity of the school is the Alton Towers Theme Park, and St Giles' Church, Cheadle internationally renowned as one the greatest creations of the 19th Century Architect Pugin.
Painsley is named after Painsley Hall, a local house, which was the home of a recusant family and a centre for Catholics in the days of persecution.
The school is extremely successful
both academically and in sport being rated amongst the very best in the county in
examination league tables and having several pupils who have represented their country in
International tournaments. Painsley's Hockey teams have an outstanding record in regional
and national tournaments.
Our school believes in developing the
whole person and is proud of its Catholic ethos. Children at Painsley benefit from a staff
who are committed to delivering a first class education. The school has been identified in
the 1998 annual OFSTED report as giving very good value.
