Communication with Parents

A calendar of events for the coming year is provided for all parents.  This contains the dates of all the Parents' Evenings, Parent Teacher Association functions and School functions, together with the dates when examinations will occur and when terms will begin and end.  In addition, parents receive a newsletter every fortnight.

A brief progress report is issued for all pupils (except Year 11) at the end of the Autumn and Spring terms.  A full written report is issued towards the end of the summer term following the internal school examinations.  Year 11 receive their full written report in the Spring term following their G.C.S.E 'Mock' examinations.  Parents are asked to sign the slip provided on the Report Form and return, with any comments attached to the Form Teacher.

For each year group an evening meeting is arranged during the year to enable parents to meet staff and to discuss their children's progress.  Year 11 has two Parents' Evenings on the calendar because of the importance of the fifth year in school with G.C.S.E examinations at the end of the year.  Parents are warmly invited to visit the school at any time, by prior arrangement, to discuss problems which may arise.
