School UniformThe school has full uniform to the end of Year 11. Uniform for P.E. is also essential. At Painsley we believe that a smart and distinctive school uniform, worn neatly and tidily, helps to instill pride and a sense of loyalty to the school and is an essential element in ensuring that Painsley continues to enjoy a high reputation in the local community. In the long run it is both practical and economical. One of the many advantages of school uniform is that it makes it quite clear to all concerned that each one of our pupils belongs to one school community, Painsley Catholic High School. It is this "oneness" which helps to make the attitude and co-operation inside the school very special and also impresses so many people who visit and know the school. All items of uniform except the school badge, tie and girls' red candy striped blouse may be obtained at most departmental stores. However, the full uniform may be obtained from our own supplier at very reasonable prices, Sportsland (situated in Meir and Cheadle) and Buxton and Bonnet, Uttoxeter. In order to maintain a high standard of appearance no modification of uniform is acceptable. "The complete programme of extra-curricular activities is particularly wide for a small school and reflects the dedication of the teaching staff." Ofsted, April 1993 |
