 Course Outline for Syllabus A Units C & J

 

Overview

Students will study unit C – Religion and life based on a study of Catholic Christianity, and J – Catholic Christianity.

 

The aims of the course are to;

·        Stimulate interest in and enthusiasm for a study of Religion.

·        Acquire and develop knowledge and understanding of the key elements (beliefs, values and traditions) of a living religion.

·        Consider the influence of the beliefs, values and traditions associated with one or more Religions.

·        Consider religious and other responses to moral issues.

·        Identify, investigate and respond to fundamental questions of life raised by religion and human experience.

·        Develop skills relevant to the study of Religion.

In addition;

·        The course has high citizenship content.

·        It reflects UK tradition of mainly Christian, whilst taking into account other principal religions.

·        Fulfils the content of the Curriculum Directory.

·        Encourages the development of key skills.
