Discipleship

  1. The Rich Man
A rich man approached Jesus to ask what he must do to enter the Kingdom of God. Describe what happened and what was said, paying attention to:
the words of the man
the words of Jesus
the reaction of the young man
the reaction of the disciples

(see Mark 10:17-27) (7)

  1. The Call and Choosing of the Disciples
Jesus chose twelve men to be his apostles. What does Mark tell us about their backgrounds? What importance might that have for Christians today?

(see Mark 1:16-20, 3:13-19) (7)

  1. The Mission of the Twelve
In this story, Jesus sent out the Twelve to preach. In what ways do you think this story might help Christians to understand their mission to the world today? In what ways might it be unhelpful? Give reasons for your opinion.

(see Mark 6:7-13) (6)

Note: GCSE questions do not include Bible references. These are included here to help you do the task.
