Introduction

The course is split into eight units, which could form the basis for lessons. Some units may be spread over more than one lesson. A brief title is followed by ideas for activities with suitable resources.

Aim

to set sexual expressions of love within the broader context of the vocation to marriage.

1. Adolescence

Aim

to show adolescence is normal type of growth
to introduce program through consideration of changes in adolescence

2. Love & Friendship

to introduce the idea that there are different kinds of love
to consider friendship as a form of love

4. Preparing for Love

to examine the idea of ‘being in love’
to consider priorities for a partner

Activities and Resources

    1. flep3 p20 ‘Marriage Quiz’ The person I marry must
    2. similar activities in ttl
    3. look at teenage mazines critically: how do they portray love, sex, romance? What are the priorities? Relationships between boys and girls? (would suit more able)
    4. Discussion work: consider differences between hero worship/infatuation/being in love (see flep3 p19). Discussion starter questions need to be devised.

 

5. Vocation to Love

to introduce the idea of different vocations as expressions of love for others
to set a background for the vocation of marriage within other Christian vocations
