I have a soon-to-be 4 year old and I am trying to make what seems to be one of the toughest decision since she was born:
Trying to find a kindergarten for next year. We hear conflicting information from various associates. Public versus the private school issue. Some questions we should ask to determine if the school is right for our child, etc..
I attended private school and my husband attended public school so we are somewhat divided on the benefits of a private education.
If anyone can provide 5 key questions we should have answered by the potential school we would appreciate it. We have applied to several schools because there is a long waiting list at the private schools in our area. We have answers to the basic questions such as: 1. Student/Teacher ratio 2. SAT scores 3. Cost 4. Computer instructions 5. Number of graduates attending college and which ones 6. Foreign language instructions 6. Are other adults allowed in the classroom, how are they supervised (will they interact with my child) But what other key questions should be asked? Does it matter whether or not all the teachers handling the kindergarten children have credentials as long as they have a college degree in education or a related field?
