Mathematics

Association for the Teachers of Mathematics: The ATM aims to bring together all concerned with mathematical education for all ages. It supports local branches, local and national working groups, informal support networks, courses and conferences.

Be A Mathematician: BEAM are producing a wide range of primary maths resources for teachers and pupils, many of which are geared towards the Numeracy Hour.

Virtual Association of European Science Teachers: VAEST exists to facilitate useful communication and collaboration between people involved in science education throughout Europe.

The Association for Science Education: The ASE is a site dedicated to those involved with the teaching of the sciences.

The British Astronomical Association - very useful site.

Institute of Physics - Runs courses and schools affiliation.

The Biotechnology and Biological Research Council - BBSRC aims to forge links between school-children of all ages and professional scientists.

SATROs - (Science and Technology Regional Organisations) provide teaching resources and act as a focal point for information and support for schools and industry. These have their own websites.

WISE - Women into Science and Engineering provides materails such as videos and science packs and aims to encourage girls to consider science and engineering as career options.

The British Computer Society

ITNTO: The Information Technology National Training Organisation is the organisation that is recognised by Government to co-ordinate the development of IT skills in the UK.

MAPE: Micros and Primary Education

Members are those who have an inspection, support or training role in schools beyond a single institution.
