Posters

Posters can be used to advertise things. They can include pictures, writing, and shapes and colours. On this page we will show you an example of how to make a poster on Microsoft Picture it, Publisher 2001, other packages will work in nearly the same way. We will show a you step by step guide on how to make a poster advertising for the NSPCC.

First of all to add colour you could use a background to make it stand out.

Click on ADD SOMETHING, then on PAGE BACKGROUND, and a list will come up on the screen explaining all the different types of backgrounds that are available to you on your computer.

Now there is something to brighten up the page you could add text to explain about the charity.

Click on ADD SOMETHING, then click on TEXT, then PLAIN TEXT, or SHAPED TEXT depending on show you wish the text to be displayed. Then type in the information that you want to included.

Next to add even more colour and information you could add some pictures.

Click on ADD SOMETHING then on PICTURE, then it will show a list of all the different places that you can get the pictures from, chose the one that you want to use then find the right picture and insert it onto the page. Position it where you want it on the page.

Then you could add a border to make the poster stand out.

Click on ADD SOMETHING, then on to PAGE BORDER, and chose the one that you want and insert.

The poster is now finished, you can always add other things on, just mess around and see what you can find, but don't forget to SAVE!
