Sponsorship of the Cheadle Community Internet The Cheadle Community Internet exists thanks to the sponsorship of its members. Each organisation entered on this site is a sponsor. There are four broad levels of sponsorship which are explained below, but other arrangements can be made to suit particular needs. After each of the descriptions of the levels of sponsorship we give two amounts. These are recommended minimum amounts for one year. The first is for charitable and educational bodies, the latter for businesses.
What we can't doIt is also important to be clear what is not provided by the Community Internet. We are not a Internet Service Provider. Although sponsors are given, in effect, Web Space, there are no dialup accounts and no direct access (such as by FTP) to our server. We hope eventually to be able to provide a limited email service to our sponsors, but this will be an email forwarding service, probably using the good old Post Office as an intermediary. Our aim is not to make a profit, but to develop the Community Internet into a really useful told for the local community in this part of the Staffordshire Moorlands. Such a service costs money and a lot of time on the part of those who administer the service. Pleae help us to make it work. |
