"There is a very wide range
of extra-curricular activities that effectively enrich the taught
curriculum. There is a large choir and orchestra. The very
extensive and successful programme of sports and gymnastics is a
particular strength of the school. Teachers give generously of
their time and activities are very popular with pupils."

Sporting activities include:
"The staff provide
good role models."

- Basketball, Cricket, Athletics, Cross-Country, Netball,
Rounders, Football, Rugby, Swimming, Hockey, Tennis and
Badminton.
- The Gymnastics Festival is held over two/three nights at the
end of the Spring Term. Over 200 pupils are involved
each year. The confidence, poise and skill of the pupils
participating is most impressive. They practise during
dinnertime and after school as part of the Gymnastics Club.
The Gymnastics Festival is an outstanding event at Painsley
Catholic High School.

Many educational trips, including visits abroad, are also organised.
These include:
- Fieldwork expeditions, Ski-ing in Italy and France, Hockey trips
abroad, residential retreat courses and many visits to theatres,
museums and exhibitions.
- The annual trips to France and Germany organised by the Modern
Languages Department are for Year 9 and usually involve about 80-90
pupils and staff. Such wonderful experiences enhance the
teaching and learning of languages.
Painsley is particularly noted for its music, drama productions,
gymnastics festivals and sporting achievements.
