Religious Inspectors from the Archdiocese of Birmingham described Painsley as a "very good Catholic school" and gave a report described as one of the best ever written. The Painsley Catholic High School serves not only Cheadle itself but also the neighbouring parishes of Leek, Uttoxeter, Tean, Cresswell, Fulford, Alton, Caverswall, Werrington, Meir, Kingsley and Cotton.
