EDUCATIONAL INNOVATIONS 'STEM' FROM TOSHIBA SPONSORSHIP OF THE SCIENCE MUSEUM

The Science Museum and Toshiba, with the support of the National Council for Educational Technology, have launched a unique competition for schools using the World Wide Web: the STEM Project Awards. Full competition entry details are available at www.nmsi.ac.uk/education/stem/.

Prizes include Toshiba computers and televisions. Separate categories for under-11s, over-11s and teachers. Closing date for entries is 1 May 1998. STEM stands for Students' and Teachers' Educational Materials. Open to primary and secondary schools and colleges, the initiative will encourage students and teachers to get maximum benefit out of visits to the Museum, and provide an educational resource on the Science Museum's Web page for others to access. Prizes of powerful Toshiba desktop PCs and Toshiba televisions will go to winning schools, while winning students and teachers will get vouchers worth up to 50.
